WISeKey Appoints Geoffrey Lipman to its Advisory Committee

Geneva – May 9, 2019 – WISeKey International Holding Ltd (“WISeKey “) (SIX: WIHN), a leading global cybersecurity, Blockchain and IoT company, today announced the nomination of Geoffrey Lipman to its Advisory Committee. Members of WISeKey’s Advisory Committee originate from a wide variety of sectors that are of critical importance to WISeKey’s growth strategy, including Cybersecurity, IoT, Blockchain, and information technology.

Mr. Lipman brings more than 40-years of green travel experience to WISeKey. He currently serves on the board of Green Growth & Travelism Institute (GGTI), a Brussels-based not-for-profit organization and is the co-founder of SUN^x Strong Universal Network, a global initiative aiming to build Climate Resilience in line with the targets of the Paris Agreement through Climate Friendly Travel. He also serves as director of greenearth.travel, a global research and commercial network created to advance Green Growth & Travelism.  

Previously Mr. Lipman served as Assistant Secretary General of United Nations’ World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), where he spearheaded the development of advanced support systems including the ST-EP Program which promotes the development of ecotourism to combat poverty (currently this program supports over 100 projects in 34 developing countries).  During this time, Mr. Lipman also led efforts to launch the Davos Climate Summit and the G20 Summit recognition program. Before that, he was the first President of The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), to pioneer new ways of measuring the economic impact of the sector and Sustainability Certification programs for the travel industry.  He began his career at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), where he spent 20 years, ultimately responsible for strategy and government relations.   

Mr. Lipman has co-authored two books and numerous journal articles on Green Growth & Travelism.  He is a visiting Professor at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia and Hasselt University in Belgium.
