WISeKey unveils the Trusted IoT Bottle using Digitally Signed Anti-refill Caps that can be authenticated via smartphones

Geneva, Switzerland – December 1, 2015 – WISeKey, a cyber security company, today announced the launch of the Trusted IoT Bottle® technology as an evolution of the WISeAuthentic solution that WISeKey has deployed with leading luxury brands, with over 1 million watches already digitally tagged and for which WISeKey has obtained a US patent. The Trusted IoT Bottle® strengthens the WISekey cybertrust technology within NFC – Digital Signed Anti-refill Caps acting as connected IoT devices. The Trusted IoT Bottle® enhances consumer protection and provides technology that can detect both the sealed and opened state of each bottle. The Trusted IoT Bottle® caps are connected via NFC to a WISeKey WISfans App that allows the brand to communicate real time with the consumer via a secure communication option included in the app.  Consumers using the app also benefit from additional services provided directly from the brand; services designed to create a fans’ social ecosystem allowing customers to interact together. The Trusted IoT Bottle® is part of WISeKey’s strategy to embed digital certificates based on WISeKey’s Public Key Infrastructure and OISTE’s Global Rootkey into NFC Trusted® tags, enabling consumers to interact securely with nearly any IoT object or transaction in a trusted manner. The technology’s main focus is to fight counterfeiting which according to the World Customs Organization, accounts for 7% of the total world trade, which accounts for approximately $1 trillion annually. NFCTrusted® authentication tags incorporate a WISeKey cryptographically secure digital certificate to prove authenticity. NFC Trusted Tags can be embedded in virtually any product, piece of equipment or common household item, and users can verify authenticity with an NFC-enabled smart phone, watch, connected device or mobile device.
